Frequently Asked Questions
We’re based in Lynnwood and primarily service all areas of Snohomish, King and Pierce Counties. However, we can also do long-distance moves throughout Washington State and out-of-state.
Yes, whether you’re moving to or from an apartment, condo, house or office space, we’re happy to assist you.
We do get booked in advance, particularly on spring and summer weekends, and especially on the last weekend of the month. We recommend you reserve your moving date as soon as you’ve made your plans.
If you can move in the middle of the month and middle of the week, you’ll have a lot more choices for available dates.
Once you schedule your move, we’ll send you an email confirmation. Check the moving-from and moving-to addresses as well as the date and starting time. Contact us immediately if something is incorrect on the paperwork or if your plans change.
Yes, we’d be glad to give you an estimate based on the size of your current home and the distance to your new home. Obviously, it takes much less time to move you from say Seattle to Lynnwood than it would to move you from Bellevue to Spokane.
Our pricing is fully transparent. We charge an hourly rate from port to port. Port to port means from the time we leave our shop located in Lynnwood, WA until the time we arrive back at our Lynnwood shop from your final delivery location. We use GPS to calculate the time and finalize the bill.
At Neo Moving, we know nobody likes being surprised by previously undisclosed fees. We believe in full transparency, so our prices are all-inclusive in our hourly rate.
Unlike some other Seattle and Lynnwood area movers, we don't charge extra for fuel, stairs, or long walks to and from the truck. The only extra charges, all of which would be disclosed up front prior to your move, are for heavy items weighing over 300 lbs. such as pianos, safes, and treadmills and for any packing services and materials you request.
You can pay with cash, check or credit card.
No. That way you have the freedom to cancel or change dates if you need to. We don't think you should be penalized for changing your moving plans. Life happens and moving plans can change spontaneously.
We’ll give you an estimate when you book your date, but your payment isn’t due until the move is complete and you’re happily situated in your new home.
The only exception is for out-of-state moves. For those situations we require a 50% deposit to schedule your move and the remainder before the truck is unloaded at your new location.
Yes, we can, but you must request them prior to moving day. We sell boxes at reasonable rates, depending on the size of the boxes and quantity used. We can also provide shrink wrap, tape, bungee cords, straps and moving pads.

Yes, we can if we know that’s your plan in advance and are therefore staffed correctly with 3+ movers. However, if you have a lot of belongings, an additional appointment may be required the day before your actual move. Please note that packing is an additional service we provide for fee.
Yes, we’re experienced in disassembling items and also at reassembling them when they get to your new home. We usually take a photo before disassembling so we have a reference guide for later.
You can spend a few extra dollars on a mattress cover and we'd be happy to put it on for you. If you want to save some money and the time to invest in one, we can shrink wrap the mattress for you at no additional cost. It takes about the same amount of time for each method.
While we can take mostly everything, there are some items that Washington state will not allow us to transport. Those items include anything that is flammable such as paint, nail polish, ammo, guns, fireworks, lawnmowers with gas in them, and any household cleaning chemicals. Be sure to dispose of these items responsibly prior to your move. Transporting them could be dangerous for you, your belongings, the movers, and anyone on the roads we travel.
Absolutely. All of our employees are background checked using a 3rd party provider. We know the importance of having workers in your home whom you can trust.
We provide training on multiple levels. Our workers first go through a video training series. We continue training on-site at our office by reenacting scenarios we frequently encounter on the job.
A trainee is then paired with an experienced lead/driver. Only once the trainee has done numerous moves under that lead/driver’s guidance will they be able to coordinate a move by themselves from start to finish.
Training includes our policies and procedures designed to ensure an injury-free and damage-free move. We also impart our values to our employees, such as the importance of courteous service, maintaining a positive attitude and low-stress demeanor, and the importance of going the extra mile for the customer.
We also reinforce all training in our weekly company-wide meetings to ensure the highest quality service is being provided to our customers on each and every move.
Yes. We will be happy to provide a COI (Certificate of Insurance) upon request.
There are a few things we cannot insure, unfortunately. Those things include items comprised of particle board, Ikea furniture, pots and plants, and lamp shades.
Yes. Tipping is not mandatory, but it is customary and greatly appreciated. It should only be considered after you’ve received extraordinary service from start to finish.
Yes, here are a couple of quick tips:
- Pack up as much as you can before moving day.
- Don’t use moving day to do any sorting of items to keep, sell, donate or give to others. If it’s in your home on moving day, we’re moving it.
- Have extra boxes, moving supplies and garbage bags on hand. You’ll likely need them.
- Keep cleaning supplies and tools (vacuum, sponge, mop, garbage bags, etc.) out until everything else has been packed up, so you can do any final cleaning at the end.
- For safety, make arrangements for young children and pets to be babysat, preferably at a different location.
- Having bottles of water or Gatorade available would be greatly appreciated. Moving is hard, sweaty work.

Neo means “new beginning” in Latin. We thought that was a fitting name for a company that helps people move to a new home for a new beginning. You can read more about Neo Moving here.
Of course! Our trained movers will pad wrap, tape, or shrink-wrap the TV and use a thick moving pad to hold it in place. Then we sandwich it usually between your soft mattress and the box spring.
If those items aren’t available, we find a way to isolate your TV against the wall using bungees, straps, and additional pads for safety.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
All-Around Great Job
I met Charley when he generously donated services to a charity we are involved in. I highly recommend them. It’s also great to support a business that contributes to the less fortunate members of our community.
Charley and his team did such an efficient, professional, and all-around great job, that we made sure to call them to do our own move today.
Today they were prompt, courteous and fun to be around. Everything was handled with great care and its clear that they know how to handle all manner of large, heavy and fragile objects precisely.
Their customer service went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that I had all the help I needed. They even made sure that I had help putting things in my own car.
Fast and Hardworking
We absolutely loved working with Neo Moving’s owner Charley, and his staff Terrance and Garret of Neo Moving. They were very courteous, friendly, kind and careful when moving the 20 years worth of furniture, and personal items that we had accumulated. They were also really fast and hardworking during a rare hot day in Seattle!
We were so impressed that we treated them all to dinner and gave them a big tip that was well deserved to say thank you for a job very well done! We thought that they were awesome, and we highly recommend them.
They were not just great movers, they were awesome, friendly and positive people that made our potentially difficult move a very positive experience.
Thank you so much Charley, Terrance and Garret, for being complete gentlemen, and so full of good energy, kindness and positivity! We love Neo Moving!
Crazy Efficient
If you want a stress free, personable, kind professional moving service that doesn’t jack up prices or take advantage of you, HIRE THESE GUYS.
I cannot say enough good things about Charley and his team. They took care and mix that with quality of service and you have yourself an easy move (probably not the easiest for them since they had 4 flights of stairs and a long pathway to walk from the truck..). But they did it with smiles and every one of them was so nice and crazy efficient.
Will recommend to any and everybody that I can!! Thank you Charley!
